About Me

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I never envisioned myself as a teacher when I was younger. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to help people, so I thought I would end up becoming a doctor. It was not until I took my first UTeach course in college that I discovered my passion for teaching. That course opened my eyes to the power of education and the profound impact a teacher can have on students' lives. From that moment on, I knew that teaching was the path I wanted to pursue, not just as a career but as a means of making a real difference in the world. My guiding principle as a teacher is rooted in the belief that education should be an equalizer and it should offer every student the opportunity to chase their dreams. I understand that not all students have the same resources, support systems, or privileges, but I firmly believe that a great teacher can help level the playing field. I want to be that teacher – the one who encourages students to believe in themselves, who listens to them when they feel unheard, and who provides a safe and welcoming environment where they can express themselves freely. Beyond academic success, I want to be an outlet for my students. The classroom should be a space where students feel comfortable being themselves and where they know they are valued and respected. Every student carries their own struggles and I want to be someone they can turn to when they need guidance or support. Teaching is about more than just delivering lessons; it is about forming meaningful connections and helping students develop confidence in their own abilities. I believe that true change in the world begins in the classroom. Education shapes the minds of future generations, and by fostering critical thinking, empathy, and resilience, teachers have the power to inspire students to go out and make a difference. My goal is to instill in my students the belief that they are capable of achieving great things, regardless of their circumstances. I want them to see their own potential and I want them to know that they have someone in their corner cheering them on. My journey into teaching has been shaped by my desire to help others. What started as a general passion for making a difference evolved into a deep commitment to education. Now, as I step into the classroom, I am excited to embrace the challenges and rewards of teaching, knowing that every lesson, every conversation, and every moment spent with my students is an opportunity to change lives for the better.
